Computer Support Specialist - Information Technology

Position Summary
Gettysburg College is seeking a part-time (25 hrs per week for 38-39 weeks of the year) Computer Support Specialist to support the Gilder Lehrman Master's in American History program. This is a predominately remote position responsible for supporting the graduate students and instructors with technology issues like connecting to campus systems. Regular remote work is available in the following states: Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, or Virginia. Employees can also work from the District of Columbia. This position will work closely with the IT Helpdesk and G-Tech (Student IT Helpdesk).
Qualifications
High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Two years of college or the completion of technical training courses in computers and network systems is preferred. At least one-year hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows and Apple hardware and software and current operating systems is required. Familiarity with computer network components and troubleshooting wireless, wiring, and user accounts is also required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated work experience in an organization having a strong focus on the delivery of high-quality customer service. Additionally, the successful candidate must have a strong attention to detail and have the ability to provide exceptional customer support. Must also have the ability to work without close supervision and must be capable of managing own tasks and priorities to achieve long term goals consistent with the strategic initiatives of the department.
