Computer Service Technician

The Queens County District Attorney's Office (QDA) is seeking a Computer Service Technician to serve as the initial point of contact on computer hardware, software, mobile devices and ServiceDesk support issues. The Computer Service Technician will report to the Director of Infrastructure Support of the Information Technology Bureau. The Computer Service Technician will be part of QDA's IT Department that includes a staff of 25 and serves an office of over 800 staff.
The Computer Service Technician will perform the following job functions, including, but not limited to:

• Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing computer components
• Identifying, researching and resolving technical problems with computer hardware, software and peripheral devices
• Provisioning, troubleshooting, and replacing mobile devices and applications
• Maintaining and troubleshooting audio visual equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems (VTC), microphones and speakers.
• Responding to IT Service Requests and inquiries via telephone calls, emails, Service Desk Portals and personnel requests for technical support.
• Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
• Ordering and maintaining an inventory of spare parts and other items
• Maintaining inventory and repair records
• Any other related IT tasks and/or function as assigned by supervising manager

Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in computer maintenance and repair.
Applicants must be able to regularly work Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., however, in some instances schedule changes and/or overtime may be required and/or necessary.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with an Associate Degree, technical certification, excellent written and oral communications skills, and prior service desk experience.
For current City employees, a permanent civil service title is highly desired.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 (Commensurate with experience)
