Computer Service Technician
The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between the government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW (ELC Detect)

The Division of Information Technology aims to align technology solutions with the DOHMH mission by prioritizing resource use and deploying innovations that facilitate the agency's day-to-day activities and enhance staff productivity and efficiency. Our goal is to provide users with a reliable, stable, and safe computing environment through the collaboration of the Bureau of Technology Strategy & Project Management provides business analysis and IT project management services to define and deliver IT solutions that meet all program needs.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Division of Information Technology has an opening for one(1) Technician to respond to the increasing number of requests for support, including account management and access for the ongoing COVID-19 response and pandemic preparedness.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for IT technical support for DOHMH sites over NYC's five boroughs
  • Coordinate with the IT network Infrastructure team and IT Security for the implementation and maintenance at DOHMH sites
  • Create installation and troubleshooting guides of machines for IT equipment to end users.
  • Maintain network or standalone systems, including desktop PCs, laptops, tablets, and other computer peripheral devices such as Wireless network, Wi-Fi connection, secure access Control printers, Label Printers, switches, network ports, structured network cabling, and UPS devices
  • Provide technical support to end-users of Microsoft products, DOHMH in-house applications, and third-party software packages.
  • Perform IT equipment maintenance, hardware and software installation, upgrades, system support, equipment salvages, and inventory tracking.
  • Perform system diagnostic and troubleshooting processes to resolve network, hardware, and software errors.
  • Testing and configuring applications for Windows OS and iOS environment
  • Install network switches, network routers, and UPS devices.
  • VoIP Phone installation and support
  • Performing imaging and encryption of desktop computers, laptops, and tablets (iOS & Android)

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Network Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of communications protocols and network concepts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications with a concentration in Microsoft Outlook e-mail Client
  • Enterprise mobile device management support and recent experience with AirWatch MDM
  • Detail Oriented
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to manage time commitments while managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Android and Ios
  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
  • Strong Work ethic and ability to deal with frustrated users

SALARY
  • Salary range is $36,000 to $40,000

9:00 am - 5:00 pm

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
You must live in New York City Tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) in order to be considered for a position at FPHNYC.
