Job Overview:
A Computer Operator is responsible for the overall monitoring and health of the 24/7 Central Data Center as well as the West Orange data center. They are responsible for the creation of the Active Directory accounts during their shift in accordance with the departmental policy and procedures. Computer Operators monitor multi-technology computing platforms, interfaces and servers.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Education completed in IT related field or minimum 1 year IT related work experience
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Preferred: Certification in IT Related field
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working: 6:30 AM ET – 7:30 PM ET
- Days to work: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Travel to West Orange location 1x/quarter
- FT/Non-exempt
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring a stable operating environment and attaining maximum utilization of system facilities
- Acts on high priority tickets immediately and escalates as needed.
- Troubleshoots and restores routine technical service and peripheral equipment
- Schedules and performs production runs
- Provides a 2nd level of support to the Caretech Enterprise Service Desk as needed
- Performs QB triaging of calls to admins within the Server, Messaging, Network, Backup, San, and UNIX teams to ensure the appropriate person is contacted as they are needed
- Escalate Communicate all other issues/concerns to Manager Director, as applicable.
- Effectively communicate with Manager, cross-functional team leads/team members, clients & vendors,both Written & Verbal.
