Founded over 80 years ago, the Wheaton Eye Clinic is a nationally recognized multi-subspecialty ophthalmology practice that spans the western suburbs of Chicago with offices in six locations and an ophthalmology-specific ambulatory surgery center (ASC). Dedicated to our mission of providing exceptional eye care, our 35 ophthalmologists in every ophthalmic subspecialty are highly respected in the region and have superb relationships with referring colleagues and health systems. Delivering care from primary to tertiary levels, Wheaton Eye Clinic doctors provide over 170,000 patient visits and perform over 11,000 surgical procedures annually.
Wheaton Eye Clinic is owned and operated by its physicians. The comprehensive ophthalmology position is a partnership track offer that in due course provides additional ownership opportunities. Because our growth strategy is based on cultivating vibrant practices for our young colleagues, the salary structure is extremely favorable to junior physicians. Due to our practice growth, expansion, and physician retirements, recently hired ophthalmologists have been busy in the first year with patient visits and surgery.
The ASC is exceptionally efficient. Our four dedicated ophthalmic operating rooms are equipped with Centurion Phaco units. The staff is expertly trained and familiar with both standard and complicated cataract procedures, as well as the full array of ocular surgeries. Epic has been our EMR for almost 7 years, and it has added efficiencies to our clinical workflow and our practice management platforms. Due to the size of our group, only two full weeks of call are required per physician per year.
