Job description

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, the Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM) Intern acts as an extension of the ambulatory pharmacy team to support patient access to the St. Luke’s CMM Program. This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, personable, and able to adapt to a dynamic environment. The primary function of the CMM intern is outreach to patients to schedule CMM pharmacist visits. Additional clinical roles will be assigned on an as needed basis. These efforts will promote optimal clinical care, medication safety, and medication adherence for our patients.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy program.
    • Experience: N/A
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Minnesota Technician or Intern registration prior to hire.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills, including exceptional listening and communication skills. Problem solving, critical-thinking, professional written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Ability to actively listen and engage in communications to ensure understanding of requests/needs of patients and clinical staff. Ability to follow written and oral instructions with accuracy and dependability. Must be organized and detail oriented. Ability to distinguish routine functions from those that require professional judgment. Ability to use phone, computer and related technology. No history of drug addiction or misuses. Good physical and emotional health patterns. Attends lectures and classes for self-improvement. Ability to learn and participate in assigned work. Have work experience that indicates responsibility, maturity and accountability.
    • READING - Advanced: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
    • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
    • SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Advanced: Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

      • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)

      • Up to 10 pounds - Continuously Over 2/3 (5.5 – 8 hours)
      • Up to 25 pounds - Frequently 1/3 to 2/3 (2.5 – 5.5 hours)
      • Up to 35 pounds - Occasionally Under 1/3 (1-2.5 hours)
    • WORK ENVIRONMENT
      • Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Hazardous Drug Exposure.
