Job Overview: The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist with providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to our patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of Pharmacy Solutions, the state’s professional standards, and other regulatory entities. The Compounding Technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, working in the clean room and compounding medication. A compounding Technician is experienced in all aspects of medication compounding and plays a significant role in the coordination of patient service.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in providing patient care and pharmacy services
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Perform medication reconciliation and patient counseling
- Adhere to aseptic technique when compounding sterile products
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent experience
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of medication names, dosages, and uses
- Familiarity with pharmacy laws and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
