Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
The California Public Employees' Retirement System is recruiting to fill a full-time permanent Staff Services Manager I position(s) in the Employer Account Management Division's Compensation Compliance & Review (CCR) Section who proactively work with employers to ensure compliance with the retirement law. The CCR also identifies compensation reporting discrepancies to ensure compensation data is reported accurately, consistently, and transparently by employers.
Under the general direction of the CCR's Staff Services Manager II, the SSM I will model CalPERS core values and is responsible for the overall management and operational activities of a CCR Unit. The program area also ensures compensation and contributions reported by contracted employers comply with the Public Employees' Retirement Law and the California Code of Regulations and are accurately reported to the retirement system and comply pension law.

Working Conditions

  • This position is designated office centered and works primarily onsite, Sacramento, CA Headquarters, at least but not limited to three weekdays.
  • Sitting, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling requirements are consistent with office work up to 40 hours per week. The incumbent works in an office setting, with artificial lighting and temperature control. Daily access to and use of the computer, including computer programs (such as, but not limited to Microsoft Office applications: Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and/or program databases (such as, but not limited to, mylCalPERS, etc.), the telephone and computer camera to utilize meeting and/or training program applications (such as, but not limited to, TEAMS, WebEx, Zoom, etc.) is essential.

Special Requirements Statement of Qualifications
