What will you do?
As part of the Organizational Development team your primary responsibility will be to administer the Workforce and Succession Planning program. Additionally, you will work closely with the Training Analyst to administer the office's training program. The position also supports the recruiting and outreach program on an as-needed basis. Some of the duties you will perform include:
  • Analyzing, developing, and updating the California State Auditor Workforce and Succession plans in accordance with industry standards.
  • Analyzing workforce demographics and trends to address workforce shortages and turnover.
  • Providing consultation in identifying key issues related to Succession Planning and making recommendations to address workforce planning needs.
  • Working closely with Training and Recruitment Analysts to ensure Workforce and Succession plans are in alignment with hiring, knowledge, and skill gaps found.
  • Developing guidelines and other tools to implement Workforce and Succession Planning recommendations, including retention strategies and knowledge transfer techniques.
  • Researching, reviewing, analyzing, developing and implementing performance metrics for Succession Planning.
  • Responding both orally and in writing to inquiries regarding Workforce and Succession Planning.
  • Proposing workforce strategies to increase employee engagement and retention.

Working Conditions
  • This position is eligible for participation in the office's hybrid telework program. Work at the alternate worklocation must be conducted in a space that is ergonomically sound, private, distraction-free, and has safeworking conditions to be eligible to telework.
  • Work performed in the office is in an air-conditioned high-rise building with elevator access and both natural andartificial light.
  • Work may require sitting for an extended period of time using a personal computer and the use of standardoffice equipment, such as phones, copiers or scanners.
  • Work may require periodic non-standard work hours and work during weekends to meet workload needsanddemands.
