Job Summary
As our Compact MachinesPortfolio Manager you will have a passion for ensuring that both Trimble and Caterpillar customers, particularly those in the Local and Site Contractor segments, are supported in all aspects of the product life cycle. You will work with CTCT, Caterpillar and Trimble employees to determine the business problems that need to be solved in order to ensure success in providing tiered solutions aligned with our strategy. You will support parent initiatives to leverage existing distribution channels in addition to assisting in the development of new ones as appropriate for the targeted customer segment. The Compact Mach ines Portfolio Manager will help develop the product roadmap in collaboration with the CTCT Product Teams, the Joint Venture Parents and the other Portfolio Managers. Your core purpose will be to lead by example and be the voice of business for Trimble and Caterpillar within CTCT, putting the end customer at the center of all we do.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll be joining the team in an exciting growth phase and we will be looking for you to hit the ground running. Serving as a key conduit between both parents and the CTCT Product Groups, you will use your exceptional communication and diplomacy skills to ensure the success of the CTCT Compact Machine portfolio to enable Trimble and Caterpillar to not only win in the market, but help shape the industry.
Own the translation and representation of requests from parent business areas and product groups responsible for Local and Site Contractors and their respective priority in the CTCT backlogs.
Working with the parent business areas and CTCT Customer Segment team, apply your knowledge of the Local and Site Contractor market and its competitive landscape to provide problem statements, objectives, hypotheses, money stories, and expected outcomes to the CTCT Product Teams.
Help develop the CTCT tiered offering strategy to ensure the parent business areas and product groups serving these customer segments will be as successful as possible with the growing portfolio of CTCT products over their lifecycle.
Effectively advocate for easy to use, tiered solutions that are built on the platform, upgradeable, interoperable and extensible.
Working with the CTCT Customer Segment team, support market research and competitive evaluations, and share that information widely to seed understanding.
Competently employ Aha! as the source of truth in the representation of the above.
Ensure adherence to the CTCT MOU, SOW’s, and MGPP.
Work in collaboration with the parents to develop go to market strategies appropriate for the targeted customer segment (e.g., e-commerce as well as dealer channels).
Exercise utmost confidentiality while working in a cross organizational environment to protect the IP and anonymity of both Parents as well as CTCT.
Work in a worldwide team taking guidance from Managers and Directors with key directives to help shape the MGPP and Long Range Plan (LRP) of CTCT.
Use data to prioritize and deliver the best possible solution for our customers and assist both parents with successful product launches, sales, adoption, and usage.
Stay current with industry trends and market insights to inform product strategy.
Guide the adoption of OKR alignment and use of dashboards to track and measure success.
Foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the product lifecycle in partnership with engineering and user experience leaders
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
Minimum 5+ years of machine control industry or related experience
Knowledge of software and/or hardware product development processes
Ability to develop strong relationships within Trimble CCFS and Caterpillar BCP, EXD and Earthmoving divisions
Ability to communicate the product vision and strategy to stakeholders, both internally and externally
Experience working in a collaborative global team with cultural differences
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Travel (including international) approximately 20%
Growth minded self-starter with demonstrated passion for the business
Having a flexible approach to working in a changing environment
