This position will interact with students, parents, staff, faculty members, representatives of community organizations and other Inclusive Postsecondary Education Programs. Identify and communicate service opportunities and coordinate student involvement and support for those opportunities. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: student, parents, faculty members, representatives of community organizations. This position typically will advise and counsel: students and representatives of community organizations. This position will supervise: NA.
ResponsibilitiesJob Duty 1 -
Provide leadership for the Community Service office and advising for all student community service related efforts.
Job Duty 2 -
Provide advice and support to faculty and staff members in service learning or co-curricular program.
Job Duty 3 -
Serve as a Georgia Tech liaison to not for profit community organizations.
Job Duty 4 -
Provide resources and training for students related to safety and liability issues involved in community service programming.
Job Duty 5 -
Participate in recruitment, selection, and formal leadership training of student leaders.
Job Duty 6 -
Write grant/giving proposals for community service and service learning programs; manage grant, gifts, and corporate sponsorships.
Job Duty 7 -
Develop marketing and promotion of community service/service learning projects and programs.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Two to four years of job related experience
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in Student Development, Higher Education or related field
SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of student counseling related to service learning programs and community service opportunities within a university environment. This includes skills in organization, program development and management, marketing/promotion, multi-tasking and written, spoken and interpersonal communications skills. Use of office related computer applications is required.
