Job description

This is a grant funded position. The grant period is 18 months and there is no guarantee of continued employment after the grant period ends.
Full Position Title: Community Relations Officer (CRO)
Job Status: Grant Funded - Non-Exempt, Part-time
Department: Women’s Centers and Holy Family Prenatal Care
Reports to: Center Manager
Supervises: No direct reports
The Community Relations Officer works within a team to plan, coordinate and implement strategies to increase client numbers (primarily abortion-minded and vulnerable) to women’s centers located in the geographic area of their responsibility. Dayton-area CROs will also implement strategies to increase patient numbers at Holy Family Prenatal Care. CROs attend scheduled community events like health fairs, etc. where typical clients would attend. They also reach out to community and social service agencies, schools, churches, etc., to inform of the services offered at WCO and HFPC to develop relationships and encourage referrals to WCO and HFPC. CROs work with Marketing to create materials when necessary.

Primary Duties
Essential Functions:
Center Administration and Support
  • Responsible for planning strategies and implementing actions that result in referral clients to WCO and HFPC from a variety of entities (individuals, high schools, college campuses, churches, community and social service organizations, schools, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Google Sheets and Google Drive to schedule, track, and notate contacts made and information provided. Each CRO has assigned zip codes and areas to focus on and documentation of contacts made is shared on a drive as to not overlap.
  • Attend bi-weekly CRO team meetings where efforts are discussed with one another.
  • Meet quarterly goals and deadlines as established on HFPC Marketing Plan. Report outcomes to HFPC Medical Office Manager.
●Seek to expand client base through speaking engagements, attendance at health fairs and community events, special events and cold calls.
  • Develop and maintain relationships in specific geographic area that will benefit WCO and HFPC with referrals, with an emphasis on schools and college campuses as well as other social service agencies.
Strategic Management
  • Assist in the development of annual outcome goals for all pertinent strategic initiative(s).
  • Track and document steps taken to achieve annual outcome goals.
  • Achieve annual outcome goals as outlined in the appropriate business plan.
Organizational Development
  • Participate on committees and special projects as requested.
Secondary Functions
  • Promote ENLC’s mission, values and goals by appearing at public speaking venues as requested.
  • Prepare correspondence.
  • Assist in development of promotional literature, newsletters, etc. as needed/requested.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as required.
  • Other duties pertaining to the mission of the organization as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Experience, Education and Licensure
Bachelor degree in Marketing, Non-Profit Management, Communications or similar focus preferred. At least one year work experience preferably in outreach capacity. Well established in the geographic area of assignment. Must be familiar with standard office equipment and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Job/Language Skills
Must work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Must possess excellent phone and interpersonal communication skills. Must be persuasive, creative, and apply problem-solving techniques. Must be self-motivated and self-initiating.
Work Environment:
Must be available Monday – Friday and occasional evenings and weekend days. Must be able to use a computer keyboard, telephone and lift up to 20 pounds.
Driving Requirements:
Driving to and from various locations is required. Must have valid driver’s license and private automobile insurance and be insurable under ENLC policy. Mileage may be reimbursed by ENLC. Occasional nights and weekends may be required.

  • Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload often balancing multiple priorities.
  • Strong personal motivation, initiative, sense of responsibility.
  • A servant’s attitude with the ability to understand how all tasks impact Elizabeth's New Life Center’s ministry of supporting life.
  • Willingness to support Elizabeth’s New Life Center’s mission and vision as defined by Elizabeth's New Life Center.
