Comprised of two interconnected neighborhoods - Ironwood and Oakwood - the community is among the most desirable retirement destinations in the Valley thanks to its combination of mature landscape, diverse amenities, and in-town location. The community features two fabulous clubhouses, 45 holes of golf, fitness, tennis & pickleball, softball, pools, trails, and much more.
Where: Located in towns of Chandler & Sun Lakes, Arizona
Pay: $15 per hour
Benefits:
New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ("PTO") in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.
All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 60 days of service.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Community Patrol Officer protects the community by patrolling the Association with the intent of observing and reporting crimes and disturbances, while maintaining civic harmony. The officer creates a relationship with the community and local police officers. This position reports to the Director of Patrol.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute positively to the BlueStar culture of values, purpose, and guest satisfaction.
  • Enforce Association rules and regulations that govern homeowners, guests, and vendors to create a safe and clean environment.
  • Provide 24-hour systematic and random surveillance of the community; maintain communication and a patrol log at all times.
  • Confer with individuals involved in disturbances to assist in determining cause and course of action; maintain incident reporting procedures.
  • Maintain vehicle orderliness and welfare; notate needs for repairs per departmental procedures.
  • Contact local police officers when necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three years' experience working in a customer service setting that requires dealing with public patrons and members.
  • Current First Aid or other safety certifications, as required by the Club.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of state and local governmental safety requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of conflict resolution techniques.
  • Ability to use cell phone for communication.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Must show critical thinking skills, with an ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Must demonstrate initiative-ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule to provide coverage for 24-hour patrol.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates on patrol from a car and in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather conditions and occasionally native wildlife; there is limited indoor time and some use of standard office equipment, such as phones, computers, and copy and fax machines. Cell phones are a main source of communication for this position. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see and hear, speak clearly and understand the speech of another person, sit and drive, stand and walk (often for an extended period), bend, kneel, use hands to fingers, touch and hold, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Dependable vision is critical to this position, including close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus for night time vision.
