HOURS: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (40 hours weekly)
The Community Outreach Specialist will work to create a process for ongoing recruitment, training and organization of families, volunteers, professionals and other community members. The Community Outreach Specialist serves as a member of the Executive Director's Management Team with the Financial Administrator/Office Manager and the Family Support Coordinator.
Community Support Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement outreach activities to build awareness, interest and participation in Cumberland, Gloucester & Salem Family Support Organization (CGS/FSO)
- Develop a mailing list of families for sharing information. (Phone List)
- Primary responsibility for support groups and information groups including fliers, reminder calls, transportation, planning, and childcare.
- Plan community forums for sharing professional/family partnership philosophy and to engage the community in networking and mutual support.
- Maintain adequate records on each volunteer.
- Develop and maintain a volunteer database.
- Complete the required documentation of all volunteer services.
- Develop a volunteer pool to organize, write, print, and mail quarterly newsletter.
- Must attend monthly Staff Meetings.
- Perform other duties as required by the Executive Director.
- Provide support, education, and advocacy to Community Families.
- Maintain Warm Line Call and Log.
- Attend special community events and county meetings on a regular basis and disseminate information about the FSO services and child mental health issues to county-base audiences via meetings, brochures, e-mail, direct mail, presentations, and other methods available within the community.
- Responsible for collecting and storing donated food items from the local distribution center, two times per week.
- Answer phone and direct the calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Greet clients/suppliers/visitors to the organization in a professional and friendly manner

Requirements:
- HS graduate with appropriate experience
- Have experience dealing with family members or children with severe emotional/behavioral challenges
- Have and show proof of a car, a valid driver's license, registration, and valid insurance.d advocacy to Community Families.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
