Job description

About the team & opportunity

Calendly Community is the destination and launching point for users' quests for help, inspiration, and connection. Whether new to scheduling automation, comfortable with calendars, or a seasoned scheduling pro - the community helps users grow and share their knowledge by leveraging collaborative spaces, an integrated user experience connecting Calendly resources across our ecosystem, and ever growing collective knowledge.

We're looking for a Community Manager to support Calendly Community reporting directly to the community program lead. The ideal candidate is Calendly familiar, comfortable working in public communities, and is highly proficient with most aspects of community management. The ideal candidate has helped manage and scale a community program at a high-growth company and is passionate about creating initiatives to help our customers and help Calendly serve at scale. They aren't deterred by ever changing, often ambiguous, and highly experimental work. Most of all, they're eager to learn, grow, and be challenged.

Our community program sits under Calendly's Customer Experience team. We provide a high touch experience to each customer and enable them to maximize our product so that they can gain valuable time back into their day to day.

A day in the life of a Community Manager at Calendly

On a typical day, you can expect:

  • To play a key role in the operational management of the Community team; your work will help us remain efficient, effective, and always two-steps ahead of our customers and collaborators.
  • To collaborate wildly with the rest of the Community team, CX Operations, Product, and others across Calendly; you'll work closely with other customer serving teams to ensure the Community is aligned and represented.
  • To lead and manage significant Community projects; you are someone who can identify a gap, develop a solution, deploy, measure, and maintain all while maintaining alignment with strategic objectives and excellent communication.
  • To engage daily in Calendly Community; no member of the Community team is exempt from engaging with our customers, answering their questions, championing their needs, and celebrating their successes.
  • To continuously learn and adapt; you will be exposed to every aspect of community management and Calendly in this role and you're eager to learn, grow, and take chances.

What could a typical week look like?

  • [Community Management] Foster positive and constructive interactions within the community. Encourage members to share their thoughts, questions, and experiences. Develop and deploy processes to better onboard new members and engage existing members.
  • [Feedback + Updates] Work closely with the rest of CX to ensure the community is in sync with support (standards, issues, etc.) and contributing to collective observations, trends, feedback, and bugs, and resulting outcomes.
  • [Business] Help develop and deploy training resources, community CoE, and other opportunities. Manage day-to-day operations of internships and rotations (not people management) and systems.
  • [Content + Programming] Own community content and programming initiative, with special emphasis on product release readiness. Develop and execute an editorial calendar. Write, edit, and work across Calendly to develop engaging and informative content.

What do we need from you?

  • 5+ years professional experience with 3+ in community management; preference for SaaS/Tech communities or high-touch communities
  • Impeccable communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills and comfortable working independently
  • A strategic problem solver with the ability to keep multiple responsibilities organized and an eagerness to take on any task when needed
  • Experience collaborating and navigating cross departmental functions including Support, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product
  • Expertise working with various online community platforms and tools
  • Experience working at a high-growth company with flexibility to adapt when priorities change
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
