- Event Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive event plans, considering themes, organization, and attendee experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and align events with real estate, hospitality, clubs, HOA (Homeowners Association), and SFCE strategies and objectives.
- Budget Management:
- Create and manage budgets for each event, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to optimize resources and achieve budgetary goals.
- Collaborate with Hospitality, Real Estate, HOA, and Clubs, as well as SFCE on an ongoing basis to secure appropriate and adequate funding for all event types.
- Logistics and Operations:
- Oversee logistical aspects such as venue selection, permits, transportation, and equipment.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners/vendors to ensure smooth operations during events.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Program Development:
- Curate diverse and engaging event programs that cater to the interests and preferences of our varied audience.
- Research new event concepts, ideas, activities and offerings to support the evolution and growth of event programming.
- Source and manage talent, performers, and speakers, aligning with the event's theme and goals.
- Develop and implement a strategy and action plan for securing local, regional, and national sponsorships and strategic partnerships to contribute to the financial support of each community event, as appropriate.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns for each event.
- Utilize various channels to maximize attendance and community engagement.
- Guest Experience:
- Focus on creating memorable and positive guest experiences through thoughtful planning and attention to detail.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve event quality and satisfaction.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with events, ensuring the safety and security of attendees.
- Post-Event Evaluation:
- Conduct post-event evaluations, analyzing key performance indicators and feedback to inform future event planning.
- Generate comprehensive post-mortem reports on the success and areas for improvement of each event.
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Valid U.S. Driver's license
- Proven experience in planning and executing large-scale events and festivals, preferably in a resort or hospitality setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of local regulations and permitting processes for events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must develop a complete working knowledge of Suncadia, including all its attractions and amenities.
- Must manage and lead large scale projects and teams of employees/volunteer/contractors.
- Must be able to see a project from beginning stages through to fruition.
- Must have strong negotiation and contracting skills.
