Job description

The Community Engagement Liaison builds visibility and credibility of the organization’s products and services within Oklahoma communities through active engagement. The individual in this role will identify, cultivate, develop, and sustain relationships with members of the community in an effort to address health disparities. This role develops, implements, and maintains connections among community members and partners and engages new enrollees.
  • Establish relationships and actively engage with communities and community-based organizations (CBOs) to provide education and promote enrollment (local, regional, statewide)

  • Facilitate community-based meetings in accordance with current approved communications/marketing plans and state regulations

  • Attend and participate in coalitions, tasks force, or committee meetings that relate to Social Drivers of Health (SDoH), health disparities, community health improvement, or other groups that align with Humana’s strategic plan

  • Support core strategies that include authentic Community Engagement, using data to inform practices, and seeking feedback from Enrollee, Provider, and Community Advisory Groups

  • Be assigned to FQHCs, CBOs, and key health partners as a resource to educate, engage, and refer enrollees

  • Collaborate with other Community Engagement Liaisons to collectively strategize and address community concerns

  • As needed, coordinate the tracking and submission of process measures

  • Develop new forums to market and educate potential enrollees about the benefit of enrolling with Humana

  • Work with provider relations to develop marketing opportunities within health centers and physician offices

  • Maintain working knowledge of covered benefits and program changes to relay information to CBOs and enrollees

  • Coordinate and attend community events in priority communities

  • Reside in the same region where they are assigned to work

  • Regular travel to conduct enrollee visits, provider visits, and community-based visits as needed to ensure effective administration of the Medicaid program

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business, communications, or related field or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach or marketing and sales

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer service experience

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Adhere to Humana’s Driver safety program and have a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits

  • Adhere to Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program; screening for TB

  • This position will require working some evenings and weekends

  • Must reside in Oklahoma

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Medicaid enrollees

  • Bilingual Spanish

  • Experience working with Oklahoma Tribal communities

  • Experience in managed care or health insurance

  • Knowledge of community health and social service agencies and additional community resources

Work at Home Criteria

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$52,500 - $72,300 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
