JOB GOAL: Provides support to the District communications services by conceptualizing, preparing, and producing online and print graphic solutions, maintaining website and social media presence, contributing to branding strategies, and creating and conveying presentations in a variety of media that reaches targeted audiences.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate will possess Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising, or media communications and concurrent experience in a marketing, advertising or media environment.
- Working knowledge of the best practices, techniques and processes associated with the design, activation, distribution and oversight of social media account
- Working knowledge of marketing communications, video, and media branding, social media and public information concepts.
- Creative, visualization editing and program development skills. Knowledge of procedures for organizing , sequencing and staging communications events, contests and ceremonies
- Advanced knowledge of software applications for presentations, creation of documents, editing and file conversions. Requires well-developed language and writing skill to prepare written scripts, speaking points, and professional correspondence..
- The ability to identify, design, organize and sequence steps supporting external communications media.
- Requires the specific ability to work with district and site-based administrators, teachers, and students in supporting efforts to present information and materials over social and learning networks.
- Valid Driver License
- Satisfactory criminal background check
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs and prepares for review, print and website and social media content used by the District, school sites, and other providers. Works with clients and project teams to recommend design options, functionality, and programming needs.
- Confers with administrators and staff to generate branding concepts and communications objectives, convey web and social media standards and rules for privacy, and assist with designing branding identity, visual content and marketing channels.
- Works with technology staff to develop web interfaces, designs and layouts, and illustrative materials. Monitors web and other social media currency, and selects and updates content and formats.
- Analyzes and reports on relevant information from social media metrics to assist with further developing social media strategies. Compares metrics with data from other sources for comparing current and emerging trends.
- Prepares in written and digital formats, communications materials that can be distributed to students, parents, and targeted community populations. Creates printed materials including and not limited to, flyers, logos, training materials, programs, and newsletters.
- Conducts periodic in-service training of site and department staff responsible for updating web page content such as contacts, calendars, and events. Conveys standards on content and web etiquette.
- Provides subject matter leadership for designing videos that can be integrated into websites, pages, and other social media. Conducts interviews, edits and participates in the design of layouts that include graphics, photos, animations, audio, and digital content.
- Coordinates and participates in developing distribution strategies and processes for disseminating communications and marketing tools through social media. This will include email and print-based campaigns, announcements, etc.
- Coordinates and participates in integrating video content into websites and pages that contain consistent formatting. Assists students and teachers with development of web pages that support academics and student activities.
- Prepares and sequences layout, organizes, and facilitates production aspects of special events and conferences that occur on evenings and weekends. May prepare multimedia presentation for broadcast of academic and non-academic processes and materials.
- Conducts periodic research of industry trends in media communications, grant opportunities, computer-aided software, and operations of other entities.
- Assures that all materials used by the District have the appropriate permissions, clearances, rights, and releases, and comply with legal requirements. Assures that all productions and content comply with access requirements for size and close captioning.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
