Job Summary:
Responsible for providing quality activities and services that will contribute to the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of the community. Oversees Community Center operations, including planning, promoting, organizing, and maintenance, of all City Programs and activities at and through the Owasso Community Center. Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction through quality service, programs, events, and facilities. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Recreation and Culture Director, and supervises several part-time employees and one full-time employee.

Salary:
$57,671 – $72,089 depending upon experience and qualifications
Schedule:
- Hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday
- Occasional evenings, weekends and selected holidays

Essential Functions
- Organizes, promotes, manages and oversees comprehensive enrichment programs to include Senior Adults, and Youth and Family
- Hires, trains, directs, schedules, supervises and disciplines personnel
- Establishes, monitors, and evaluates standards and goals for division personnel
- Develops and administers the division budget; requisitions and purchases materials, supplies, and equipment
- Works with other community agencies to act as an information clearinghouse for the community
- Coordinates activities with other divisions and departments, and with user groups, including City Partners and the general public
- Seeks vendors and sponsors for events and programs
- Develops and implements marketing strategies and ideas for programs
- Assists in organizing, managing, and coordinating the marketing plan and social media outlets in coordination with the Recreation and Culture Department’s overall marketing plan
- Completes required reports including metrics and surveys to inform City Management and the public
- Assists citizens, user groups, and staff with complaints and incident resolutions
- Performs other duties as directed in a manner which supports the vision, goals, and strategic objectives as well as the overall effectiveness of the organization
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
- Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- General accounting/bookkeeping education, training and/or experience
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, managers, subordinates and the general public
- Demonstrate organizational skills to effectively supervise day-to-day operations of the Community Center and staff
- Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications, Education, Experience and/or Certifications:
- College degree and/or training related to the aging process, physiology, human relations, or Recreation Administration; two years of experience with progressive responsibilities in management of senior citizen programs and/or centers, or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience
- Must have CPR certification or obtain within six months of hire
- Must have Basic First Aid training or obtain within six months of hire
- Must have Defibrillator training for auto-defibs or obtain within six months of hire
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Work is performed in an environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing department policies and procedures.
Work is performed throughout the Community Center, standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
