Turning Point of Lehigh Valley has an immediate opening that will help survivors of domestic and intimate partner abuse throughout Lehigh & Northampton Counties by providing individual and group counseling. This position works from one of our satellite offices and runs support groups in our Allentown and Bethlehem offices.
The Community Advocateprovides crisis intervention, case management, individual and group counseling using the empowerment model to those who have experienced domestic and intimate partner abuse. As part of a team the Community Advocate will provide trauma informed services. Must have excellent “customer-service” skills, the ability to handle crisis situations calmly, effectively, and efficiently. Must also be mission oriented, compassionate, empathetic, non-judgmental and a team player who can also work independently. This position requires availability during evening and weekend hours, as necessary, to meet client needs.
The Community Advocate position is a full-time, non-exempt position. Position pay is $20.50/hour and we are currently offering a $1,000.00 sign-on bonus. We offer paid training and full benefits, including generous time off, paid lunch, health, dental, vision, and life and disability benefits.
The successful candidate has a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience in social services or related field. A degree in social services is preferred. Must be adept at client database management and virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Doxy.Me. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Preferred candidates will be fluent in English and another language.
