Communications Security (Comsec) Operator (Graveyard Shift)

This position will be responsible for working within Comsec Operations at American Honda in the city of Torrance, CA.

JOB LOCATION

American Honda Motor Company, Inc., 1919 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, California 90501.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as a member of an emergency dispatch operation in a corporate atmosphere.

• Handling incoming minor and major emergency phone and radio calls for assistance.
• Monitors a local national central burglary/fire alarm system via state-of-the-art computer equipment and software applications.
• Monitors facility of 100+ acres via state-of-the-art CCTV system.
• Dispatches police, fire and security patrol units in response to silent/ringing alarms & requests for assistance.
• Performs routine test diagnostics of all equipment, systems, and field devices for proper operation, and places service calls as needed.
• Maintains central service call log of all related equipment & systems nationally.
• Processes requests for employees nationally, of card access privileges via the central card holder database.
• Provides upper management with detailed verbal & written reports of any incidents or information that affect the company’s regular operation.
• Conducts regular emergency drills simulating a major emergency or catastrophic event in a large corporate atmosphere.
• Counsels employees, vendors, and visitors of corporate security policies.
• Follow guidelines or changes in responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Ensure guests are properly screened against Restrictions/Keep lists before approving access to controlled areas with trade-restricted items as required.
• Understand and proficiently execute all requirements regarding post-specific Standard Operating Procedures as agreed upon between RMI and Honda.
• Performs recordkeeping and clerical duties, as needed.
• Ability to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment.
• Based on the position ensure that all proper pieces of training and certifications are ongoing, current, complete, and documented properly.
• Site-Specific Training: Training developed to cover basic site functions, equipment, processes, and policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand, sit, stop, bend, and walk regularly for 8-12 hours per shift.
• Must be able to climb up to 3 flights of stairs.
• Must be able to use body members to work, move, or carry objects or materials.
• Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally and/or up to twenty pounds frequently.

REPORTS TO

COMSEC Operator will report directly to the Com-Sec Supervisor.

$22.66 per hour

HOURS OF OPERATION

During designated operating hours, special events, ann recognized holidays. Hours of operation will be consistent for service provided at the American Honda Corporate Office.

TRAINING

Aside from RMI-provided orientation and initial training,the Comsec Operator shall participate in a minimum of on-the-job training.
