We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Communications Specialist in the Peoria, Illinois area.

As a communications specialist, you’ll work directly with leaders to build and execute creative communication plans and strategies; support website strategy, design, and content management; create compelling visual communications and presentations; plan and execute divisional events and more. What you will do:

• Build and execute creative internal and external communication strategies for Caterpillar’s Product Support and Logistics community.
• Own, develop, and manage several communication vehicles including electronic newsletters, division website, SharePoint sites, videos, PowerPoint presentations, and more.
• Assist with high-profile initiatives and engage with business partners.
• Leverage and embrace technology to find new and creative ways to reach key audiences. Develop innovative processes/methods to best use resources or technology to deliver quality work.
• Provide communications support for varying levels of leadership, including Senior VP, Divisional VP, Directors, and more.
• Ability to function in a team environment on various project teams aimed at providing strategic solutions to the business.

What you will have:

Education/Experience: 4-year degree in communications, marketing, or related field/ 3-5 years of related experience

Effectiveness Measurement and Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement. Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way. Strong project management, teamwork, and creative thinking skills.

Multimedia Technologies and Copywriting and Editing: Advanced experience in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. Demonstrated experience in Adobe CC applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, etc. Experience editing videos-adding graphics, sound, transitions, etc. Demonstrated skills in graphic design and visual communications. Knowledge of multimedia publishing technologies and procedures; ability to use installed audio, visual and animation software tools to produce multimedia publications. Knowledge of copywriting and editing; ability to write, review and edit texts and documents to promote marketing.

Internal Communications and Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of techniques and media for internal communications; ability to produce and distribute news, newsletters and other communications materials targeted at the employees. Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.

Establishing and Maintaining Trust and Interpersonal Relationships:  Knowledge of developing and maintaining trust; ability to develop trusting relationships and provide solicited, respected, and valued perspectives to clients/peers that guide thinking, facilitate issue resolution, and enhance client/peer capabilities. Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

• Limited travel expected- 10% of working time
