Communications Operator

Responsibilities:

• Operate the hospital's telecommunications switchboard system, handling incoming and outgoing calls promptly and professionally,
• Greet callers in a friendly and courteous manner, providing a positive first impression of the hospital,
• Direct calls to the appropriate departments, clinics, or individuals, ensuring accurate and efficient call routing,
• Respond to inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff, providing information about hospital services, visiting hours, and general inquiries,
• Maintain an up-to-date directory of hospital staff, departments, and extensions, ensuring accurate and timely information,
• Assist in emergency situations by promptly connecting calls to the appropriate emergency response teams,
• Handle internal paging requests for hospital staff, physicians, and other personnel as required,
• Monitor and respond to alarms and emergency codes, following established protocols and procedures,
• Collaborate with other hospital departments to coordinate communication during critical situations or emergencies,
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information,
• Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, updating call logs, and generating reports as needed,
