Ready to make an impact? Peraton is seeking an experienced Communications and Network Engineer to work on the Digital Transformation, Acquisition, Modernization, and Modification (DTAMM) program. Become part of our team where we will partner with the United States Space Force (USSF) to employ modernization and digital transformation efforts that enable the acceleration of a national launch cadence across the Eastern Range (ER) and Western Range (WR).
The Space Force is focused on developing a scalable system capable of responding to the demands of National Security Space Agencies’ objectives and DoD’s Test and Evaluation (T&E) needs as well as ensuring the Nation’s ability to access space. The Range Architectural line of effort will be enabled through innovative employment of cloud technologies, software development services, AI/ML, hardware modernization, and cyber security strategies. These efforts will improve data acquisition, processing, and distribution while enhancing collaboration between government and commercial launch partners. Prototypes and emerging technologies will be advanced into the LTRS architecture and incrementally delivered as operational capabilities, supporting the objectives of increased launch capacity and tempo for our nations ER and WR spaceports. The Communications and Network Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
• Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end instrumentation systems communications and network functionality and systems-oriented components through their entire life cycle.
• Generates quantifiable communications and network requirements based on customer CONOPS, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
• Ensures communications and network requirements are consistent with higher and lower level requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
• Participates in translating high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements.
• Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the communications and network development.
• Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole.
• Assesses performance using defined evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
• Customer liaison and support for communication and network development activities and to understand and shape requirements.
• Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
• Translates high level product development strategies into communication system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements.
• Participates in design reviews (hardware/software/subsystem) to ensure compliance with architecture and CONOPS and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
• Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
• Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
• Experience analyzing operational processes and assisting in developing communications and network system requirements and translation to detailed designs
• Ability to work with senior customer and user representatives to define and implement changes in operations and business.processes
• Experience working with technically diverse project teams in a high operations tempo environment
• Experience preparing and delivering written reports and customer briefings.
