JOB DESCRIPTION
TMZ has an opening for a Supervising Archival Producer. The Supervising Archival Producer must have experience managing multiple productions and reviewing content for proper clearances. The ideal candidate will be responsible for communicating with photo/video distribution companies to secure assets for production and negotiate high level deals and MSAs.
The Supervising Archival Producer must be able to provide continual support in a high-pressure, fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise clearance and archives across all TMZ media
  • Manage team of Clearance Producer and Associate Producers
  • Obtain permission for third-party materials for use across TMZ's productions
  • Negotiate and execute licenses and other contracts
  • Develop contacts, cultivate sources, and maintain relationships to aid in securing future assets
  • Anticipate show needs, meet deadlines and be a positive team member
  • Provide support and communicate with all TMZ Executive Management
  • Manage clearance budget, reporting costs in a concise manner on a daily basis to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with accounting department to ensure timely and accurate reporting of costs
  • Procure new and different assets for documentaries and special projects
  • Review editorial with Supervising Producers to ensure efficient notation process and savvy creative decisions are being made
  • Identify opportunities for workflow and workspace improvement
  • Work with Business Affairs to resolve any major questions pertaining to assets while exhibiting strong in the moment judgment on minor issues and questions

Requirements:
  • 2+ years as a Supervising Archival Producer overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
  • 7+ years experience working in series or news television as a Producer
  • Strong telephone/communication skills
  • Proven record of tracking archival/clearance costs across multiple projects concurrently
  • Understanding intellectual property concepts and Fair Use
  • Ability to think quickly, problem solve and have exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to delegate and managerial experience
  • Flexible and able to work hours subject to production needs
  • Familiar with programs and processes such as: Outlook, Excel and other MS Office software

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $148,000.00-163,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
