ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
USF World is led by a VP and is comprised of units across Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota devoted to promoting education abroad, international student recruitment and admissions, support services for international students and scholars, the management of international partnerships, international travel risk and safety services, management of Peace Corps programming, tracking and documenting international research collaborations and the global footprint of faculty, students and staff, international alumni development and outreach, and the marketing and communication of USF World programs and initiatives. Comprising a total of over 100 employees & a budget of approximately $10.5 M, clients are USF faculty developing international academic experiences, curriculum, and research collaborations, administrators promoting the global priorities of USF, staff responsible for supporting international activities across campuses, colleges, and other units, current and prospective students coming to USF from other countries, and U.S. students seeking global experiences as well as university partners from abroad. Community partners include local, state, national, and international leaders of government and public and private organizations, including other institutions of higher ed, military, business, and industry.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications and Marketing Officer develops and coordinates creative and written content for a wide variety of programs and activities to promote and publicize USF World and its activities across audiences and stakeholders with USF and to the broader local, national, and global communities. The position works directly with the USF World Leadership on strategic messaging and communication goals for the unit. The position serves as a media liaison for USF World across its three campuses.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Additional skills needed to be successful include strong communication strategy, familiarity with web design elements, data visualization, content editing, and team management
Responsibilities:
Constructs, maintains and collaborates on the maintenance of USF World web pages across the three campus locations. Includes posting messages, news releases, photos, templates, and other information. Develops and organizes and makes corrections to website content.
Directs, develops, manages, coordinates, and/or makes recommendations for advertising plans and strategies. Aggregates global event and program information that includes creating a central USF World event program activity calendar for internal and external use. Provides information about programs, events, projects and/or activities of the unit.
Designs, develops, edits, publishes, maintains, coordinates, and/or oversees a variety of print and/or electronic marketing, promotional, and/or educational pieces, materials, and/or publications for internal, community, university-wide, public, and/or media dissemination. Examples include: graphics, design elements, banners, web copy etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
