Communications Manager
Our growing public relations firm is seeking a Communications Manager. This is an in-person position in Denver, Colorado. Our firm serves a diverse array of political and business clients and provides a wide variety of communications services. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of both internal and external communications along with an understanding of the intersection of communications and politics. Our projects require driven, detail-oriented critical thinkers with a passion for results. A successful candidate should be eager to learn and grow in their role with a desire to expand their skillset.
JOB DETAILS
· Managing communications projects for assigned clients and assisting with communications needs on other clients.
· Serving as day-to-day contact with assigned clients and managing a successful line of regular communication on projects.
· Managing daily client correspondence and materials.
· Communicating project details and status to client and colleagues on a regular basis.
· Critical thinking to identify paths and facilitate completion of day-to-day client tasks and long-term client projects and firm goals.
· Develop client communications plans and outreach strategies, including those with a political, policy, and campaign focus.
· Assess and anticipate future client needs and identify opportunities for growth.
· Able to research and analyze information and provide recommendations to enable strategic decision-making.
· Skilled in developing marketing, media relations, and communication plans and materials.
· Skilled in media relations, including existing relationships with media community.
· Assist with firm administrative duties as assigned.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
· Strong understanding of communications, media, and public relations.
· Strong understanding of the intersection of communications and politics.
· Must be self-starter with strong critical thinking skills, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task, initiate and manage projects, and prioritize.
· Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
· Strong working knowledge of social media platforms and engagement.
· Must be able to manage all details of a project from start to finish.
· Self-sufficient and knows how to operate on quick turnarounds with limited instruction.
· Expertise in policy and political communications is a benefit.
· Ability to meet and manage deadlines.
· Interpersonal skills that enable collaborative working relationships with fellow employees and demonstrate the ability to follow through on projects in a timely manner.
· Must have ability and interest in building and maintaining relationships with a broad network.
· Confident personality and comfortable working in high-energy and pressure situations.
· Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills are essential.
· Must have strong knowledge and experience of AP style.
· Strong copy-editing skills.
· Must be able to think both creatively and analytically.
· Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or related.
· 3 to 5 years communications, public relations, or media experience is desired.
· Experience with political campaigns (candidate or issue) desired.
· Must be willing to work on energy, utilities, oil and natural gas issues.
· Some evenings/weekend work as well as overnight travel will be required.
· Must be discreet, professional, and have the ability to keep information confidential.

Salary range: $75,000-125,000 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
