Salary: TBD based on education and experience. Benefits package with $20,000 Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability Insurance, Options for single or family medical, dental, and/or vision insurance with applicable employee contributions.
Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
- Plans, organizes and manages the District's communications activities. Performs specialized work in desktop publishing, web development and content management, marketing, brand management and digital media integration to promote District programs and activities in accordance with the District's communication plan and strategic objectives.
- Oversees all official branding and graphic design for the District including logos, publications, promotional materials, video production, advertisements and website content; develops, implements and maintains corporate graphic standards in accordance with District policies and practices.
- Coordinates all aspects of District print and electronic publication to include, but not limited to designing, editing, printing and distribution of newsletters, annual reports, guides, training manuals and other special publications.
- Performs public relations/news dissemination functions, including preparing news releases, coordinating press inquiries, and brochure development, conducting interviews, gathering information from individual schools and coordinating special event media coverage.
- Manages social media efforts ensuring that all platforms have fresh, engaging content that is in line with the District's brand and tone.
- Works with individual buildings, staff and local media to develop positive stories about the District.
- Assist with emergency communications on an as needed basis.
- Performs as staff photographer at District events, ceremonies and other activities for use in all media formats and coordinates professional photography upon request.
- Organizes and maintains video and photographic archives.
- Provides video and audio production for the District communication methods through recording, editing, and publication.
- Oversees the development and maintenance of the District website, including methods to deliver messages, ease of navigation and clarity of information; ensures that all content is current and relevant.
- Assists with planning, logistics, coordination and execution of event day responsibilities for District events, ceremonies and other District activities.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in graphic design, video production, journalism or related field; with three (3) or more years of professional experience in communications or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the required work in this position.

- Web development principles and practices.
- Photography principles and practices.
- Video production tools and techniques.
- Principles and practices of public and community relations.
- Proficient with desktop publishing software including. but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier, InDesign, Illustrator.
- Communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language.
- Managing multiple projects and tasks at once and prioritize as needed.
- Ability to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
