Communications & Events Manager

Summit Carbon Solutions is a dynamic and forward-thinking start up that is committed to making a difference in the future of agricultural and energy markets in the US. We are a proposed carbon capture and permanent storage pipeline. We are currently looking for a versatile and highly organized Communications and Events Manager to join our team. This role is perfect for a jack-of-all-trades professional who thrives in a public-facing position, managing our social media presence, website content, and coordinating our events.

Position Summary:
As the Communications and Events Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our external communications and ensuring the success of our events. Your responsibilities will include managing our social media platforms, maintaining and updating our website, and planning, organizing, and executing events. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical skills, and project management capabilities. This person must be willing to travel across the 5-state footprint.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Social Media Management:
• Develop and implement a social media strategy that aligns with our organization’s goals.
• Create engaging content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Monitor social media channels for industry trends, audience engagement, and feedback.
• Analyze social media performance and adjust strategies as needed.
• Website Management:
• Maintain and update the organization’s website to ensure content is current, engaging, and user-friendly.
• Collaborate with team members to create compelling content that highlights our mission, events, and achievements.
• Optimize website for search engines and monitor traffic analytics to guide content decisions.
• Event Coordination:
• Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of events from conception to execution, including logistics, vendor relationships, and event promotion.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure events align with organizational goals and messages.
• Manage event budgets, timelines, and post-event evaluations to ensure continuous improvement.

Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
• Proficient in social media platforms, website management tools (e.g., WordPress), and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear understanding of agriculture and/or energy industries.
• Must be able to travel within the project footprint across 5 states.

Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management or other related field.
5 years of proven communications and marketing experience.
