Role: NC3 Communications Engineer

On-Site: Suffolk, Virginia

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000

Recruiting Heroes is looking for a highly motivated and experienced NC3 Communications Engineer for an on-site role in Suffolk, Virginia. Ideal candidates will have experience with USAF bomber platforms (B-52, B-2, or B-21). This position will be in support of the Director, Operational Test & Evaluation (DOT&E) mission to conduct Cyber Assessments of current and future avionics and communications upgrades.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience with technical requirements and execution for avionics development and test pertaining to navigation, voice communication systems, Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) data link systems, military and civilian communication networks, network protocols, and associated airworthiness, cyber and network security/integrity requirements.
• Experience with GPS receivers, integration, and interface units and cryptographic systems.
• Experience with navigation, guidance, and control systems and associated flight software.
• Experience with navigation analysis and simulation/programming tools.
• Knowledge of MIDS-JTRS/Link 16 requirements and implementation.
• Knowledge of critical signal analyses, in support of Air Force Manual 91-118 and 91-119 nuclear design certification.
• Assessment of current and future Position, Navigation, and Timing system design and requirements.
• Experience with hardware/software development and integration with avionics and air vehicle systems.
• Experience in analyzing, decomposing, and documenting system requirements and assessing system design and readiness for test and production.
• Experience using quantitative models, risk management techniques, and analytical tools.
• RF hardware experience.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience deriving system requirements from customer documents and/or developing Statements of Work.
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering Field.
• Experience briefing and interfacing with technical and program managers, senior executives, and senior military personnel.
• Strong oral & written communication skills, analytical thinking and physical science/engineering problem solving skills.
