Position Summary
This is a remote position requiring candidate to be located within one hour of Alexandria, VA.
National Capitol Contracting (NCC) is seeking a qualified and passionate Unified Communications Engineer/Senior Voice Engineer with experience with Microsoft Teams Voice and telephony systems in general. The qualified candidates must be able to manage themselves and lead others with a proven track record of customer-facing Teams Voice deployments, must have experience with Cisco Session Border Controller (SBC).
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Provide support for the Tier 2 Service Team regarding any escalations.
- Maintain and support the current Cisco SBC’s, Teams and Cisco configurations.
- Identify, diagnosis and resolve VoIP, and Data (Unified communications) general component issues.
- Help client’s structure, plan, estimate, deliver, Deploy and operate the Teams services, cloud connectivity, and network infrastructures supporting an enterprise architecture.
- Build technical artifacts for Engineering and operational teams.
- Provide mentoring and coach junior engineers, including providing training and support as required
- Resolve escalated network and security support issues
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to pass security suitability process for government clients and obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have history of safe driving.
- Minimum of (5) five years of experience with applying VoIP protocols, VoIP codec, Cisco Session Border Controller (SBC), and Unified Computing System (UCS) on an enterprise network.
- Experience with Analog, Voice, and Expressway Gateways.
- Working Knowledge of TCP/IP, SIP, QoS, DNS, and LDAP.
- Experience with Cisco Router Voice Gateways (H.323, MGPC and SIP).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Voice administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA Certification
- MS Teams certifications and/or hands on experience
Special Position Requirements
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 4pm EST, with some scheduled evening or weekend work as needed by client. Will require onsite work on occasions, but will be scheduled a head of time.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
