Skills/Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in the field of marketing, communication or closely related field; or two years of experience in marketing, communications, media and computer graphics design.
2. Relevant work experience with skills and traits including, but not limited to: graphic design, event planning, media relations, photography and video production, website development and maintenance, social media development, quality verbal and written communications, customer service and organization, and being a collaborative team player.
3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite products, Microsoft Office products, Canva, and Google Suite products is required.

Performance Responsibilities:
1. Support the development and implementation of the communications strategic plan for Andover Public Schools in the following areas: internal and external communications, website/social media, recruiting and advertising, and crisis communication.
2. Assist in conveying information to parents, students, staff, community members, media, etc. as needed through website, social media outlets, email, newsletters, etc.
3. Maintain data pertaining to website, social media, etc.
4. Develop marketing and promotional materials for print and web utilizing Adobe Creative Suite products or other graphic design software.
5. Take, edit and share photographs of district events and activities, as well as capture video and edit videos for marketing and community relations purposes.
6. Coordinate and communicate special events in the district including enrollment, community engagement activities and other meetings.
7. Assist in the coordination of regularly scheduled e-newsletters and magazine with relevant district information for internal distribution.
8. Produce district-wide magazine twice a year. This project includes copywriting, layout, advertisement design, collaboration with content generators, editing and coordinating advertising sponsorships.
9. Notify the director of communication regarding important information (e.g. meeting, emergency situations, potentially newsworthy stories, etc.).
10. Track and report statistics of website and social media engagement.
11. Develop a positive online presence by creating regular content and providing training and support for district staff on social media and website accounts.
12. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of district rules, regulations and policies, communication trends, and a professional attitude and appearance.
13. Serve as a liaison between District Office and schools, teachers and others for telling the district's story.
14. Provide excellent customer service in person and on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
15. Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Communication.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
1. Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
2. Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
3. Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend and/or reach.
4. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
5. Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
6. Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Terms of Employment: Hourly wage and work year to be established by the Board.
