Comms Tech – Hollywood, CA

Job Overview:

The Comms Tech is responsible for maintaining the Comms inventory (two way radios, WiFi devices, etc) on a daily basis. They will also assist with processing rentals with the administrative team and clients, as well as expedite equipment as needed with the warehouse staff team. They are responsible for executing deliveries and pickups of equipment to and from client's location as needed.


Responsibilities

  • Assist administrative staff and operations managers with incoming bookings via email and phone calls.
  • Schedule delivery and pick-up of production supplies and communications equipment, to and from client locations, when necessary.
  • Assist administrative staff in opening accounts in Rental Works and save all paperwork for each account in the online shared database, including MRA (one per customer), Deal Memos (one per job/rental agreement), and Certificates of Insurance. Issue digital CC authorization.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all communications equipment on a weekly basis including walkie talkies, wifi devices, walkie accessories and sound equipment. Flag equipment in need of service to the Communications Manager as needed.
  • Prep and test all walkie packages, wifi units and sound equipment before and after going on rental.
  • Programming of walkie frequencies to match clients requested specifications (training will be provided).
  • Accurately and efficiently pull and stage Quixote equipment for orders from the pull list paperwork in an organized manner. Determine if anything is short to generate a “short list”.
  • Work with clients on the check-out and check-in process of equipment at the Quixote facility or on location. Please always get signatures for all in and out contracts.
  • Help management with stock checks and short lists to maintain accurate inventory counts on a day in and day out basis so all orders are filled appropriately.
  • Communicate customer requests, order changes and/or paperwork specifications to a member of the management team. Always take notes of physical changes made when rental software is not available (on location, etc).
  • Safely operate lift gates to load, unload or restock equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks following all proper lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques.
  • Properly assess and complete minor repairs to equipment when able.
  • Maintain a clean work area at all times.
  • Complete all tasks in a safe and timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned by management and executive team.


Required Experience / Abilities
:

  • Experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, clients, and team members.
  • Available to work all standard business hours and overtime as necessary.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education and related experience.
  • Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner and in alignment with Company policies and procedures.

Working Conditions
:

Work activities will regularly include working outside, in inclement weather, with exposure to extreme temperatures, areas of poor visibility, wet and/or humid conditions. Noise level in work environment can be loud and cause sound vibrations. Dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, hazardous chemicals and operating vehicles will also be present in work environment.

  • Heavy work: requires ability to continually lift, push, and pull 50 pounds of product individually and occasionally in excess of 100 pounds up to 160 pounds of product in a team lift.

Compensation:

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role is $18.00 - $26.00 per hour.


The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment. In compliance with the California Law, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.


Quixote Studios reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above
