Company Overview:

STS Technical Services, a Top 100 Staffing Firm, partners with major entities in aerospace, manufacturing, defense, and industrial sectors. We are currently seeking a skilled Commodities Manager in Atlanta, Georgia, to join our client’s team dedicated to high-quality aerospace solutions.

Position Summary:

The Commodities Manager will oversee the procurement and strategic sourcing for in-flight services, focusing on optimizing the supply chain for food ingredients such as proteins, dairy, and baked goods. This pivotal role includes managing supplier relationships, strategic sourcing initiatives, and procurement strategies to support our client’s operational and customer experience goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage strategic sourcing initiatives for in-flight ingredient procurement, aligning with broader business objectives.
  • Execute Request for Proposals (RFPs) using a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to evaluate and select suppliers, aiming for optimal cost savings and efficiency.
  • Oversee supplier performance, conducting regular reviews and managing risk profiles to ensure service quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, and marketing to integrate procurement strategies with business and customer service goals.
  • Lead efforts in sustainability by evaluating and optimizing the environmental impact of sourcing practices.
  • Manage strategic supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supply chain management, preferably within the food service or airline industry.
  • Proven expertise in negotiation, contract management, and strategic sourcing.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with various organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced negotiation skills and experience in managing complex supplier contracts.
  • Experience with corporate communications or marketing within the supply chain domain.
