Job Overview:
Electrical Commissioning Agent, you are at the forefront of ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of electrical systems within our company. Your role involves overseeing the commissioning process, where you systematically test and verify the functionality of various electrical components, systems, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
- Commissioning Planning and Coordination:
- Develop comprehensive commissioning plans outlining procedures, schedules, and testing protocols.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with commissioning requirements.
- System Testing and Verification:
- Conduct thorough functional testing of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, switchgear, and other critical components.
- Verify electrical systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies during the commissioning process.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions and ensure optimal system performance.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, including test results, equipment specifications, and performance data.
- Generate detailed commissioning reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering teams to address interdisciplinary challenges and ensure holistic project success.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to provide updates on commissioning progress.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure all commissioning activities align with regulatory requirements.
- Training and Handover:
- Provide training to operations and maintenance teams on system functionalities and troubleshooting procedures.
- Facilitate a smooth handover of the project from the commissioning phase to ongoing operations.

Compensation:
Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.
Work environment:
- Commissioning Agents typically work in an office environment, although they may occasionally visit worksites to observe a project or to meet with clients. When on worksites, Field Service Manager is to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and high viz vest/ shirt
- Working around energized equipment
- This role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) is a preferred. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in commissioning utility scale solar projects.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical systems, and relevant industry standards.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and communication protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to solar installations.
- Relevant certifications such as NABCEP PV Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist or equivalent are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
- Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.
- Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time.
- Push, pull, lift, and carry at least 10 pounds.
- Frequently required to walk and stand. This position may involve infrequent site visits which will require the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof-read documents to identify errors.
- Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
- May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
