Commercial Solar Supervisor

We are currently looking for a full-time Commercial PV Supervisor. The PV Supervisor will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the commercial solar installation team and overseeing multiple commercial projects to ensure they are on track. A typical day is spent out on the job site working while overseeing solar installations, providing guidance and training where needed for each crew member, and communicating job status to internal operations for customer communication.
The ideal candidate will have a vast working knowledge of current and local compliance codes and have experience installing commercial PV systems in various applications. Additionally, this person will have both solar installation and electrical experience, experience leading a team, and be able to maintain a high work ethic.

DUTIES

• Manage and execute commercial solar projects from start to finish.
• Act as main point of contact for installations, schedules, and budget.
• Engage in safety and progress inspections by company personnel and on-site subcontractors.
• Analyze project requirements and perform to meet deadlines.
• Ensure job site has all materials, tools, and equipment to perform job safely and efficiently.
• Order materials, as needed, for job site.
• Install and connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets or other components and systems.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Communicate potential problems encountered during construction that would affect the schedule or require additional materials to be procured.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Use and ensure the proper safety equipment and practices for safe installation with California OSHA compliance and adherence to corporate safety requirements and regulations.
• Train, Mentor, and develop team crew members.
• Collecting and submitting job-site photos during and at the end of each installation.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years’ commercial solar installation experience.
• Minimum 1 year of leading a crew of 3 or more people.
• Strong commercial roofing knowledge is desired.
• Electrical installation experience required.
• Mechanical aptitude is a must.
• Ability to work in challenging weather conditions and environments (hot, cold, wind, tight spaces, etc.).
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of this job.
• Ability to safely handle tools and materials commonly found in the construction and solar industries, such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
• Ability to read basic solar and electrical plans.
• Strong work ethic and excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements.
