The Commercial Security Technician performs service and installations of Commercial Security including access control, video surveillance, security, and networking.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Service and Install Commercial Security systems, including existing system upgrades and additions, while demonstrating complete understanding of the use and function of all required personal protective equipment.
- Install cabinets, cameras, and radios as required.
- Install conduit and underground cabling to support system installations.
- Installations require knowledge and ability to understand and explain:
- Testing system components.
- Attend classroom and field training as required.
- Work on an on-call schedule rotation.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Proficient in Avigilon, DWD, Hikvision, Honeywell, 2GIG, Qolsys, etc.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in the Commercial Security industry
- Understanding of computer networks
- Possess high school diploma or GED
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Basic computer skills and comfortable operating electronic devices.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to drive/ travel in and out of state.
Installation Technician Requirements:
- Demonstrates complete understanding of all field safety requirements with supervision.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of the use and function of all required personal
- Protective equipment for field installations with supervision.
- Installs cabinets, cameras, and radios as required to complete field installation.
- Installs conduit and underground cabling to support system installation.
- Tests cabinet and cabinet components to verify proper functionality of system.
- Knowledge of Cat5 and Cat6, Fiber, and Copper.
- Understands camera installations.
- Understands ground plane and proper grounding of system.
- Understands proper voltages expected at test points within cabinet.
- Understands proper termination techniques.
- Understands use and function of the support equipment.
- Understands and explains user manuals associated with components.
- Understands cabinet assembly, wiring, labeling, and layout.
- Understands cabinet installation and testing.
- Understands cabinet troubleshooting.
- Completes daily job assignments on time and correctly using company accepted protocol.
- Demonstrates independent work, an understanding of differential voltages and relationships.
- Tests system components.
