NU-TEK Roof Systems brings to the table thirty years of collective experience in the Commercial Roofing industry, providing time and cost-effective service in an industry saturated with less organized / disorganized competitors. We’re the go-to roof replacement and repair company in the Northeastern US, focusing on customer service and project completion, on time, and within budget.
We are now interviewing for a Full-Time RemoteCommercial Roofing Sales Estimator. Our Estimator will take the lead in assembling cost estimates on projects ranging from $100K to $5 Million in both the public and private sectors. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Estimator in the Commercial Roofing industry, possessing the knowledge to accurately assess the costs and requirements associated with Commercial Roofing projects. This role supports new and existing clients and creates estimate packages for Commercial Roofing opportunities attained through a combination of leads generated by our Business Development department, and from existing clients.

Job Responsibilities:
- Obtain all necessary information, including field inspections, measurements, photographs, and sketches required to provide accurate customer pricing.
- Generate estimates from blueprint drawings, specifications, field notes, field drawings, and actual field inspections.
- Evaluate the scope of work, estimate the costs of materials, labor, and variables needed, and provide an accurate cost estimation for the roofing project.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive bids for Commercial Roofing projects, adhering to company guidelines and industry standards. Prepare detailed documentation of all estimates, including cost breakdowns, project scope, and assumptions.
- Suggest value engineering options without compromising quality to optimize project costs while meeting client requirements.
- Provide timely delivery of estimates and bids, demonstrating professionalism and efficiency.
- Work alongside the sales team, assist in the sales process, and provide the necessary technical expertise to support the team. Attend sales presentations and partner with clients to establish their needs.
- Identify potential risks and challenges related to the project and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure the best possible pricing for materials and services.
- Attend weekly meetings in conjunction with project start-up, pre-bid, sales, and job progress.
- Submit all contacts and documentation promptly; maintain sales call logs.
- Understand the contract to ensure the Company’s responsibilities and scope of the work.
- Responsible for catching deviations from the specifications and plans related to scope, contract, and schedule.
- Obtain all necessary information, such as field inspections, measurements, photographs, and sketches, to provide accurate customer pricing.
- Communicate with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, and property managers.
Necessary Skills:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Commercial Roofing Estimator with a successful track record of preparing accurate and competitive estimates.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Commercial Roofing systems, materials, construction techniques, and industry best practices.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex project documents and drawings.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions during the estimation process.
- Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills to present estimates and interact with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines and handle multiple estimations simultaneously.
Position Requirements:
- Strong background in Commercial Roofing (Minimum 5 years)
- Strong knowledge of EPDM, PVC, TPO, Metal, BUR
- Ability to read plans, perform take offs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage project from start to finish
- Knowledge of job site safety requirements.
- Coordination of material deliveries and all other jobsite needs
- Change order tracking
- Knowledge of AIA billing applications
- Maintain schedules
- Attend jobsite meetings and conduct site visits
- Critical skills include planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, follow-through, priority setting, and a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks.
- Strong attention to detail
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and comfortable visiting actual job sites about 50% of the time (without fear of heights)
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with associates.
- Knowledge of business and management principles
