COMMERCIAL PROJECT SPECIALIST
FT, Salary plus Commission, Exempt
Reports To: Sales Manager
Job Role:
Evaluate roof requirements by physical inspection and accurately diagnosing problems. Prepare accurate roofing proposals by measuring and defining proper materials to include diagrams and photos.
Present proposals on-site when possible/appropriate with customers to secure sales, otherwise, e-mail proposals within a week of inspection, with follow-up to confirm receipt of the proposal and to go over any questions. Engage in effective proposal follow-up until project is decision is reached. Follow company guidelines and policies for providing superior customer service. Additionally, the Commercial
Project Specialist will participate in industry-related and company events as determined necessary. This position also requires a licensed drone operator (Lyons will facilitate and pay for licensing). Drone licensing to be accomplished within six months of hire date.
Job Responsibilities & Functions
Prospective Customer Communication and Contact:
- All appointments are to be kept timely.
- Customers should be called to confirm appointments and provide an estimated time of arrival.
- Rescheduled appointments should be facilitated through assigned Project Specialist
- All appointments, including pick-ups and other commitments, should be updated in Salesforce.
- Customer contact should be made to all pending prospects and updated in Salesforce.
Newly Contracted Customer Communication and Contact:
- All new customers should be informed about what to expect when a proposal is signed, including but not limited to: o Current backlog of work – estimated time frame of job commencement o Communication from office o What to expect during production – including pre-job meetings, project installation and post-production requirements to maintain warranty.
Sales Proposals/Contracts
- All paperwork requiring signatures and/or initials are to be signed and dated by the customer.
- Photos of all roof areas required, close ups of details, surrounding property and all problem areas including interior.
- Sales contracts are to be turned in within 48 hours of the customer signing.
- Maintaining current and accurate pricing of all materials/accessories.
- Accurate requisition of materials is required to avoid shortages.
Sales/Production Responsibilities:
- All job specifications subsequent to initial contracts are required to be identified requisition and are to be communicated fully to Commercial and Production Management.
- Attendance at pre-job meeting for all contracts sold prior to project start date.
General Operations
- Perform within full compliance with all company policies and procedures, as further defined in the
Employee Manual, Procedure Manual and Safety Manual according to the Lyons Way standards.
- Participate in company and departmental strategic planning and goal setting with management as needed.
- Participate in developing, implementing, and managing departmental and company policies as needed.
- Exhibiting and promoting mutual respect and trust to the company values and mission to all employees, associates, suppliers, and customers.
- Participate/attend company teambuilding and social functions.
- Participate in training for Salesforce, CompanyCam, Outlook and other software programs as required with the goal of attaining eventual proficiency.
- Ability to safely navigate Lyons Roofing Drone. Become a Licensed Drone Operator within 6 months of date of hire.
Benchmarks for Success:
- All appointments to be met on time with courtesy calls made with ETA prior to arrival; calls required to inform customers of changes in scheduled times.
- Maintain required communication in Salesforce with all prospects through sale or closing file.
- Maintain required communication with Sales Administrator and Production Manager for all customer and sale related activities.
- All customer communications must be updated in Salesforce within a reasonable time period.
- Accuracy in order measuring, pricing, and processing.
- Complete photo documentation of all inspections and revisits to be recorded in CompanyCam.
- All documentation including proposals, take-off sheets, customer RFP, satellite reports and contracts to be uploaded and stored in CompanyCam.
- Turn in signed sales proposals within 48 hours of signature.
- Self-generated leads and self-prospecting expected.
- Building and maintaining client relationships is expected.
- Continued involvement with customers through production phase.
- Maintenance and updates of all pricing.
- Communication with Project Managers on all aspects of each job.
Must have Roofing Experience

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
