Commercial Collection Specialist

McKenzie Credit Group, LLC is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team in Vancouver, WA.  Since 1989 McKenzie has been helping people achieve their business dreams by financing equipment for small and medium-sized companies.

Due to our continuing expansion, we have an immediate opening for a Commercial Collection Specialist. The position requires a highly detailed individual with knowledge in the collection industry, preferably with asset management experience as well.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage applicable collection queues and data input to CRM system.
• Engage in outbound and inbound collection calls to identify issues and provide solutions.
• Maintain detailed notes in the system for each account being worked.
• Resolve early and late-stage delinquencies with accuracy, professionalism, and compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
• Analyze corporate and personal financial data, asset values, and other relevant information to assess the appropriate course of action to optimize the amounts collected.
• Initiate research and skip-tracing efforts to facilitate legal/recovery action when applicable.
• Proactively monitor assigned accounts and applicable inventory to identify collection opportunities and portfolio trends.
• Provide regular collection and delinquency forecasts to management.
• Respond to customer calls with speed, accuracy, and a “first contact resolution” approach.
• Identify inefficiencies within the current workflows and assist in the logical implementation of improvements.
• Attain monthly collection and delinquency goals set by management.
• Achieve monthly/quarterly/yearly targets and Key Performance Indicators

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree or bachelor’s degree in related field desired (but not required).
• Five-plus years in relevant commercial collections and customer service experience.
• Leasing/financial industry/banking sector experience is preferred.
• General knowledge of commercial equipment financing and the products thereof.
• Candidate must have a “business” mindset, with an understanding of the financial services industry – including an ability to understand all facets of financial services, such as leasing, secured lending, and asset management.
