SalaryThe Content Updates Editor will optimize shopping and partner content. This role will work within our CMS and closely with our partnership and experimentation teams as they update and format e-Commerce Content. This position will be editing and updating content to adhere to content refresh strategy, optimizing for search and distribution. The position is remote.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is between $19.00 and $23.00 per hour. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography and local wage and hours laws.
Audit content using competitor analysis, commerce knowledge, and internal data insights to produce meaningful updates that help keep our content recommendations up-to-date.
- Research new products/services to update articles and maintain freshness.
- Work with category editors when more in depth updates are needed i.e. article rewrites.
- Ensure new and existing articles reflect the McClatchy Shopping team voice and standards.
- Check editorial copy to ensure names, product names, prices, and links are correct.
- Apply SEO recommendations to enhance content as specified by growth and editors.
Able to collaborate with category editors to create content briefs for full rewrites.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university preferred; or the equivalent education, experience, skills and knowledge needed to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and ability to collaborate on creative ways to enhance content.
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and content management systems preferably WordPress and Cue.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to prioritize and to work under and meet short- and long-deadlines in a fast-paced, data-driven work environment and to accurately fact-check information
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and team player skills. Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to work well, be professional and courteous with a variety of editors, staff at all levels, and the public.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office, Digital editing, web search, databases)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Must be able to work remotely while contributing to a team environment
- Regular and reliable attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or the equivalent education, experience, skills and knowledge needed to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position.
- 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
