Description
The Collector, Liquidation supports and resolves member repossession, foreclosure, and charge off accounts to maximize collections. A Collector, Liquidation balances maintaining strong member relationships and meets member service standards with maximizing collections.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Contact delinquent charged off members regarding their loans by phone, mail, and email; take appropriate action to cure the full balance by payment plan or settlement, following established procedures and regulations
- Perform integral asset searches on charged-off accounts to recover losses
- Evaluate deficiencies in documentation or collateral and financial information to determine borrower’s ability to repay
- Develops repayment, collateral and documentation plan following established procedures and regulations, including partnering with management on initiating legal action
- Conduct skip tracing post charge off, as necessary, to obtain contact information in order to contact delinquent/defaulted members
- In partnership with management, review and approve/deny system override requests from other departments on charge-off accounts
- Participate in department projects and initiatives, including systems upgrades, quality control, and testing
Experience and Education Requirement:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in third party collections or charge off collections, preferably in the financial services industry
- Basic knowledge of financial service industry regulations including TCPA, FDCPA, FCRA and FACT ACT is required
- General understanding of loan calculations including APR, amortization schedules and simple interest calculations
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, effectively handling a variety of responsibilities
- Strong listening skills with ability to ask probing questions to determine member needs and overcome objections
- Ability to solve problems with effective decision making skills an attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly (verbal and written) and and influence
- Ability to professionally handle sensitive documents
- Familiarity with a core banking system
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 (HYBRID)
Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $20.67 - $24.52 + annual bonus
