CNC Supervisor

Summary
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in computer numerical control (CNC) machining, manual machining, and auxiliary processes to meet the production plan and ship Val-Matic products in a manner which exceeds company goals for quality and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
- Studies schedules, orders, and other records to determine priorities, work assignments, and methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules on assigned work centers.
- Oversees machining, welding, and miscellaneous production activities to ensure accuracy,
- completeness and quality.
- Ensures equipment is working properly and coordinates repairs with maintenance personnel.
- Works with managers, supervisors, manufacturing engineers, design engineers, management, and employees to ensure schedules are met or problems are addressed.
- Advises management of needs in areas of control.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Trains employees on the various processes, QAP’S and QAW’S.
- Ensures subordinates are cross trained on multiple machines to ensure that key pieces of
- equipment will always be in production as scheduled.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
- Prepares composite reports as requested from management.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma and five years related experience and/or training; or technical certification or completion of apprentice program; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expert-level experience in mill or lathe setup and operation, and a working knowledge of manufacturing methods including metal cutting, tooling, and fixture building. Familiar with company products and components and have a working knowledge of mechanical assembly, product testing, work instructions, and customer requirements.

- Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge of shop math.
- Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of CNC programs, including program editing and G & M codes; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
