We are expanding and seeking a CNC Set Up Operator to join our dynamic team!
Day Shift = Tues.-Fri.,10-hour shifts
2nd Shift = Mon.-Thurs., 10-hour shifts
Weekend = Fri. 10-hours, Sat-Sun 10-hours, Mon. 10-hours
The CNC Set Up Operator will be responsible for operating and setting up CNC machines to manufacture and repair fluid film bearings, seals, and perform "contract machining" in our state-of-the-art facility located in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
Utilize a variety of machining tools and equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores, and other machining equipment to manufacture and inspect detailed parts and tools based on blueprints, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions.
Apply mathematical and geometrical calculations to ensure accurate machine Set Up.
Perform minor equipment repairs and determine the appropriate machine Set Up based on provided instructions.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, while consistently meeting quality and efficiency standards.
Use precision measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, surface gauges, and dial indicators to ensure dimensional accuracy and specified tolerances during machining operations.
Qualifications
- Hold a technical degree from a trade school or community college; or possess at least 2 years of related experience and/or training; or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, as well as company, customer, and governmental specifications and regulations.
- Familiarity with machine tools such as Okuma, Hyundai, Bullard VTL, Fanuc, and others.
- Effective presentation skills and the ability to respond to inquiries from managers and co-workers.
- Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts, including proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Knowledge of basic algebra and geometry concepts is essential.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing and machining operations relevant to the production and repair of fluid film bearings.
- General knowledge of machining processes, including cutting fluids, surface finishes and tolerances, turning, drilling, milling, and abrasive processes.
- Familiarity with various materials such as steels, nonferrous metals, and alloys.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical drawings.
- Military experience is considered a plus.
