CNC Router Technical Engineer
Reports To
Facilities & Maintenance, CNC Manager
Summary of Position
Ensures all CNC produced parts are high quality, clean and within specification. Oversees all CNC programming procedures, including but not limited to: program editing via CAD/CAM software, file restructure/organization, program and prototype creation.
Essential Responsibilities
Monitors department to ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
Collaborates with Department Supervisor on daily tasks and priorities
Ensures CNC machine procedures are efficient and effective, develop, write and update SOPs
Operates and uses effectively all CNC related CAD/CAM softwares to create and edit existing programs
Communicates with CNC Router Machine & Software Vendors for technical issues repairs and updates
Communicates with the inhouse maintenance department regarding maintenance schedules and machine issues.
Creates new CNC programs, must be able to calculate feeds, speeds, bit entry and bit selection, can edit existing .DNC / .ROU CNC programs for maximum efficiency and performance
Manages, restructures and organizes multiple .DNC / .ROU product files
Designs and develops complex prototype products for Bay Photo R&D
Designs and creates tools and specialty products to assist with workflow improvements
Can read and interpret a variety of designs and drawings.
Conducts departmental training on systems, methods, procedures and proper utilization of all machinery and tools
Other Duties
Participates in production work as required.
Able to operate a forklift safely
Requirements
High School Diploma; Degree or certificate in Technical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge & experience with Auto CAD/CAM softwares, MS Office & Google suites
Experience using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
The ability to wear PPE for most of the day. Able to stand stoop, climb stairs, ladders and Lift 50-70 Lbs. regularly

Excellent communication and organization skills
Problem solving & paying attention to details
CNC machine mechanical knowledge. Able to address any basic mechanical and software issues
Self-starter that balances initiative, independence and collaborates with others as needed.
Working knowledge of Auto CAD/CAM CNC software programming and manufacturing is required
Experience
Previous experience working a machine or CNC shop
Previous experience in manufacturing and production workflows
Working in a fast paced changing work environment comfortably
Compensation
- $31.20 - $37.30 per hour
