Position Responsibilities:
- Must be able to program CNC machines from solid models and blueprint and /or drawings without assistance.
- Ability to setup and run machine to produce parts to customer's specifications.
- Must be able to read and use measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Diagnosing any errors and making the necessary adjustments.
- Produce machined parts by setting up and operating manual mills, lathes, saws and other production equipment.
- Must know how to setup and program CNC Mills and Lathes.
- Must know how to import templates and edit via MasterCam.
- Operate manual mills and lathes including zero and reference points; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
- Maintains specifications by drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements, sharpening and replacing work tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Design and program sanding fixtures for various die cast and aluminum parts.
- Design and program various assembly fixtures and replacement fixturing.
- Create .DXF drawings for outside service work (wire EDM, etc.)
- Program, Setup and ability to run complex aluminum components.
- Ability to troubleshoot problematic scenarios associated with programming projects.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent.
- Associates Degree or Certification
- Proficient in MasterCam and SolidWorks.
- Must have experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, and Haas.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings and manufacture the component in line with the specifications.
- Three plus years manual lathe and/or mill operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- One-year experience in CNC Programming.
- Formal education in CNC machining preferred.
