Cnc Operator 3

Job Summary

The CNC Operator 3 Sets up and operates numerical control machines to cut workpieces to specifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Set-up and operate production multi axis machines such as Haas and Matsuura Vertical mills, DMG Mori universal Turn machines and Tsugami screw machine

· Test run new programs prior to full production runs and report any issues to programmers

· Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions

· Inspect and measure machined workpieces to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges

· Read and follow blueprints, sketches, drawings, and work instructions to fabricate products

· Perform preventative maintenance on equipment

· Keep accurate record of labor hours performed

· Follow all safety rules and procedures

· Assist in production of parts, maintenance or repair of machines, building maintenance

· Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

· Demonstrated experience as a CNC operator

· Must be familiar with Fanuc, Celos and Haas machine controls

· Have fair knowledge of G and M codes

· Must be detailed orientated, organized, able to multitask and work in a noisy and fast paced environment

· Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to stand for long periods of time
