Forklift Operator/Hosteler/Warehouse Associate

Seattle-Tacoma Box Company is located in Kent, WA. We are a family owned company, 6 generations strong for over 132 years under the same family management. Currently, Seattle-Tacoma Box supports assembly operations and warehouses in Washington, Alaska, Oregon, California, New Hampshire and Arizona. The company specializes in the manufacturing of corrugated, corrugated plastic and wooden packaging used throughout the food industry.

Must possess valid Washington state issued driver's license.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

The Kent, WA corporate headquarters of Seattle Tacoma Box is currently looking to add 2 qualified Forklift Driver/Hosteler/Warehouse Associates to our growing team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from machines, storage areas and loading docks, trucks and/or storage facilities.
• Obtain copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility
• Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks
• Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
• Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
• Checking to make sure loads are secure
• Stacking empty pallets
• Performing daily equipment checks
• Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standard
• "Hosteling" experience preferred (truck driving/moving of trailers in yard)

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent (recommended)
• Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills required
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
• Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
• Maintain a clean & safe environment
• Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license is required
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards (highly recommended)
• Familiarity with warehouse management system software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES

• Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
• Able to maintain balance while lifting, pushing and/or pulling
• Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
• Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
