Job Title: CNC Mill Programmer
Location: San Jose, CA
Salary: $45-$50 per hour
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled CNC Mill Programmer to join their team. With a successful track record spanning over four decades, our client specializes in providing manufactured parts and solutions for industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Semiconductor, and Medical. As a medium-sized facility, our client offers a vibrant team atmosphere and challenging work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret complex engineering drawings to plan manufacturing operation sequences
- Design robust processes that align with company goals for efficiency and quality
- Complete plans, programs, setups, and production runs within estimated time
- Create drawings, models, programs, and work instructions to successfully create parts
- Comply with all company procedures and maintain documentation to company standards
- Machine complex parts in a variety of materials using CNC mills
- Set up and operate CNC mills, demonstrating expert knowledge of the CNC control
- Possess thorough knowledge of fixture and work holding design, cutting tool selection, and work holding methods
- Troubleshoot technical problems at the machine and perform efficient G code editing
- Inspect parts to customer print tolerances and ensure quality standards are met
- Mentor less experienced personnel and share knowledge and techniques
- Stay updated with the latest industry advances and continuously improve skills
- Collect accurate data for each job, record time, and ensure accurate part counts
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safe equipment operation and compliance with safety regulations
- Adhere to all company policies, meet teamwork expectations, and exhibit solution-based communication and actions
- Attend work punctually and consistently
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in program setup and operation of CNC mills and conventional machine tools in a high-precision environment
- Four (4) years machinist apprenticeship preferred
- Proficiency with CAD and CAM systems
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, as well as effectively present information to customers and colleagues
- Solid mathematical abilities, including basic arithmetic, measurement conversions, and problem-solving
- Strong reasoning skills and the ability to apply common sense in decision-making
