An employee's specific job duties, priorities, and performance expectations are detailed in his/her individual performance plan.Has capabilities to perform tasks associated with the Machine Shop:Running manual and CNC lathe and milling machines.Setup and use manual machining equipment, hand tools, measuring equipment.Capable of reading and understanding outside and inside micrometers, vernier calipers, veneer height and depth gauges.Perform light maintenance of equipment as needed.Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.Lays out, measures and marks metal stock in order to display placement of cuts.Align/secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.Independently sets up and operates various mills and/or lathes.Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.Measures, examines and tests completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Manages problems involving many variables in sometimes difficult and stressful situations.MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or equivalent.MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE2 to 5 years' experience (more preferred) with manual and/or CNC machines, mills and lathes.Familiarity with FAA regulations and requirements preferred.Read, understand, and interpret blueprints.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESAble to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; Attention to detail, ability to balance multiple work assignments; organized work habits; ability to work independently. Understand feeds and speeds for manual mill and lathe set up. Has excellent communication skills, and proficiency with major software programs: e.g.
